On the Horizon: Photography Adventures Planned for 2025
As 2025 approaches, I’m filled with excitement for the journeys ahead. My photography isn’t just about capturing stunning images—it’s about creating connections, telling stories, and inspiring conversations. From the rugged terrain of the American West to the ancient landscapes of Turkey, this year promises moments of magic, adventure, and, of course, plenty of wild horses. Here’s a look at the trips and projects I’m planning for the year ahead.
Wild Mustangs Across the American West
Wild mustangs have long been a central theme in my work. In 2025, I’ll be traveling to several locations across the western United States, searching for those rare, breathtaking moments when light, landscape, and spirit align. These journeys aren’t just about photography—they’re about raising awareness of conservation efforts and the challenges these iconic animals face. Expect images that highlight the mustangs’ raw beauty and the wide-open spaces they call home.
Cappadocia: The Semi-Wild Horses of Turkey
In June, I’m planning a trip to Cappadocia, Turkey, to photograph its wild and semi-wild horses. These animals roam against a backdrop of surreal rock formations and centuries-old landscapes—a dream for any photographer. I’ll also explore the region’s history and culture, weaving a narrative that connects the horses to their unique environment. Cappadocia’s mix of ancient charm and untamed beauty is something I’ve wanted to capture for years, and I can’t wait to share the results.
Winter Magic in Tokyo and Kyoto
While this trip isn’t about horses, it’s no less exciting. Over the Christmas holidays, I’ll be visiting Tokyo and Kyoto to photograph Japan’s winter landscapes. From the snow-dusted temples of Kyoto to the dazzling cityscapes of Tokyo, this journey will blend the modern and the ancient. It’s an opportunity to explore new photographic themes and techniques, and I can’t wait to see what winter in Japan has in store.
A Return to Sable Island?
If invited, I’d love to return to Sable Island in late summer. My 2024 journey to this remote, windswept island was one of the most meaningful experiences of my career. Capturing the wild horses there—untouched by human hands and thriving against the odds—was unforgettable. A second visit would allow me to delve deeper into this remarkable place and its unique story.

Closer to Home: Los Angeles
Of course, not every adventure requires a plane ticket. I’ll continue exploring the city I call home—Los Angeles—finding beauty in its diverse landscapes, from the urban skyline to the Pacific coast. The possibilities here are endless, and I’m always on the lookout for fresh perspectives.
2025 is shaping up to be a year of incredible journeys and creative growth. Whether I’m standing in the wide-open spaces of the American West, exploring Cappadocia’s ancient valleys, or braving winter’s chill in Japan, each adventure will bring new stories to tell and images to share. I look forward to taking you along for the ride—one frame at a time.
